Arthur Giacalone, Ph.D. (Clinical/Consulting Psychologist), provides consultation and training in evidence-based, mindfulness-focused executive coaching, leadership and organization development. The focus of Dr. Giacalone’s expertise has been on cultivating excellence in executive leadership through the application of principles of emotional intelligence in a number of areas of executive talent management such as: selection, on-boarding, executive assessment, development, coaching, mentoring and succession planning. He is also interested in corporate narratives and the unique outcomes of emotionally intelligent teams and organizations with functional and successful internal work cultures and norms. Dr. Giacalone has provided consultation for diverse clientele, including: C-Suite officers, Human Resources, attorneys, engineers, physicians, medical administrators, computer scientists, psychologists, financial analysts and advisors, senior marketing and media specialists, and educators.

From 1989-1991 Dr. Giacalone held the position of Chairman in the Graduate School for the Study of Human Consciousness at John F. Kennedy University. In 1994 he Co-Founded The Institute of Contemplative Studies, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the training of graduate and postgraduate psychologists and psychotherapists. He has been a continuing education provider for the California Psychological Association since its inception in 1994, and has provided training and consultation in a number of venues throughout North America, Scotland, Italy, Cyprus, Hong Kong and China.

Dr. Giacalone’s on-going interest in human consciousness and the psychological states associated with well-being is rooted in his 35 years of personal study, practice and teaching of meditation. The International Thomas Merton Society selected him as a 2004-05, William Shannon Fellow for a documentary he is producing on Thomas Merton and contemplation, entitled, Silent Lamp: Thomas Merton on Contemplative Life and the Mysteries of the Heart.

Dr. Giacalone is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial- Organizational Psychology.
